A system dynamics approach for dairy herd modeling considering fixed-term artificial insemination scenario

Objective: To design and develop a continuous simulation model based on System Dynamics to analyze reproductive parameters considering artificial insemination policies aimed at sustainability in dairy herd. Methodology: The procedure is classified into four stages: (I) Analysis of the behavior herd definition problem, (II) Description processes contextualization model, (III) Generation preliminary verification, validation (IV) results. Results: It was shown that using tools it possible within effective detections periods heat constitute determining factor application general Therefore, biotechnology protocol, such as synchronization fixed-term insemination, are mitigate problems associated with problems. Conclusions: use system dynamics allowed us have holistic approach problem all relevant variables evaluate improvement policies. presented development research evaluating different animal management, meat exploitation dry cows, review situations efficiency identification cows heat.
